When clients get close to something really big I sometimes hear the ‘Fear of success’ demon show up.  He/She/They (because we all have our own versions of this demon) will often be whispering in their head saying something like….’You’re not good enough’ 

First things first – I want to normalise that.  If you think you’re the only one walking round hearing voices in your head saying ‘You’re not good enough’, I’m sorry to break this to you – but you’re not special.  98.9% (#madeupstat) of the human race was gifted one of these voices at birth – we’ve all got them and sometimes they get really LOUD!  Usually when we are on the edge of something really big, like launching a passion project or leaving a big job to do something we really want to do.

A super easy way to tackle them is to let the speak – write down what they say – even imagine the kind of voice they’re using – but give them time.  They’re there to keep you safe so you can thank them for that.  And then kick their butt – ask yourself, of all the words that I’ve just heard what’s actually true here.  

I get the FEELs – that it feels crappy, it feels overwhelming – but when you break it down and look at what’s REAL then life seems a whole lot simpler.
